First Date Tips & Why Opposites Don't Always Attract with Celebrity Matchmaker Tammi Pickle

The host of Hey High Hello, Lauren Lo, did a fun and informative podcast on all things dating! In this week’s episode of Unwell Wellness, Lauren welcomes VP of Elite Connections, Tammi Pickle, to dive into all of the tips we want and need to know about dating. Tammi is a celebrity matchmaker, dating/ relationship coach, host and author. Tammi is passionate about what she does and says, “I fell in love with wanting to help people, this is what I want to do”. Her team at Elite Connections reviews every client they sign and why she feels it’s a safe way to date. The complaints Elite Connections hear from singles is about online deception. Tammi and Lauren go over topics such as matching, the dating process, partnership, how to love yourself, and handling post breakups. All very important topics!

Tammi expresses how relationship healing and self-love are important aspects as you start your dating process. Making sure you are healed from past relationships and that you are fully happy with yourself, where you are at, and love yourself before you start dating. Hoping someone will fill the void you are trying to fill is never a recipe for success. Finding someone should be an added positive to your already fulfilled life. Being okay with yourself and where you are at in your life is key to being ready to explore a new relationship.

First date tips!!!! Number one is to be positive! Have a good attitude about your date and try to find the similarities and things in common, don’t get stuck on the negatives. Lauren and Tammi talk about how the talking should be 50/50, don’t take over the conversation. Be yourself and ask your date questions about themselves to show them you are interested in their life as well. It’s important be open minded and not base everything just on the first date, who knows, if you give it a second date you may be so glad you did! There may be dates where you’ll find they just aren’t your person and that’s ok! It doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you or them, there just may not be chemistry. Remember that not everyone is for everyone. The matchmakers hear Elite Connections complaints about no chemistry on a first date and always say you need to get to know the person. One date is not enough.

Tammi talks about the three things that create a successful relationship. Communication is key, being open and honest with each other and expressing feelings and concerns. Making time for each other is so important. You need that time together to keep the connection and grow. Showing that you care and making an effort is very important and will mean so much to your significant other. With these three key things, your relationship should be off to a great start!
