Cuffing Season is Here! By Claudia Duran, Miami matchmaker
Hi, I’m Claudia Duran and I am a VIP Matchmaker in Miami with Elite Connections International, an award-winning, private & exclusive dating agency, with over 26 years in the business. The agency specializes in professional matchmaking for a discerning clientele who desire a private and personalized approach to dating. Matchmaking in Miami is completely unlike online dating, as it seeks to highly personalize the experience for clients ranging from bachelors and bachelorettes in their 20s and 30s to widow and divorced singles in the second and third phases of their life. Elite Connections reviews explain why Miami singles have been joining for 26 years.
As a Miami Matchmaker, I can tell you that even though there are really no fall or winters in Miami, (more like spring and summer only) there is definitely a winter season that rolls around every year, bringing perfect 80 degree weather, droves of tourists and jet setters, and of course major global events such as Art Basel, the International Boat Shows, and Winter Music Conference, among many others.
That said, I can tell you that cuffing season is alive and well in South Florida also. Perhaps it is our Northern friends who rub off on us, perhaps it is the holiday season, or perhaps it just the shorter days and maybe even the top content coming out on Netflix and in the movie theatres during this season that makes us want to pseudo hibernate.
Do you know what cuffing season refers to?
No, it’s not a BDSM thing (unless you’re into that of course), and no one here is judging, it’s a specific time of year when people become extremely motivated to get "coupled up."
It generally occurs from October to March. You know, the cooler months of the year. As the temperature drops, the number of couples rise. The temperature in South Florida drops from 90 degrees to 80 degrees and sometimes even 70 degrees, and we Floridians get very excited about that. Northerners also get excited about it, migrating down. Snowbirds, as they are called, settle in to their second homes, escaping the cold and bitter winters up North.
So what happens around this time every year is that I see a spike in matchmaking interest and leading to an increase in memberships (this is good news for singles!) as well as an uptick in clients committed to making significant life shifts in love and relationships, as we head into holiday season. Many choose to work with matchmakers to find suitable partners and husbands and wives, and some opt to work with relationship coaches that support them, hold them accountable, and cheer them on for good measure if they are inclined to feel that they need help getting into the right frame of mind in order to be “matched.”
No, you don’t have to wait until the “New Year, New Me” run around when the masses commit and then drop off. Yes, you can join many other singles who are going for it NOW.
Meeting people and making changes though the festivities, parties, travel, time off, the way we see it, there is no better time to do it! These are opportunities that are ripe for relationship building, whether it is business or social, they are bringing people together, and coming in quickly, and it makes sense to take advantage of this and have fun while you are doing it. Getting into the right frame of mind (a joyful one) and being open (or in sync with) the wonderfulness of the season, only fuels the joy that bringing together old friends and meeting new friends (and lovers) can bring.
The process of matchmaking in Miami can help connect you with other singles who are invested in the process of love. They are invested emotionally, financially, and even logistically – and that means they have agreed to be available for dates and are ready to suit up and show up! How many times have you met someone amazing and the timing was less than optimal. They were just getting out of a relationship, or worse, they were already in one! Perhaps that person was getting ready to make a big career move, or moving altogether. Matchmaking allows you to only date within a pool of people who are also invested, just like you are, and are on the same page with regards to timing, mutual goals, and shared compatibility and lifestyle.
If you don’t feel that you are in the right mindset for matchmaking, or that you are blocked or worried that matchmaking In Miami may not work for you, you may want to consider coaching. Working with a good relationship coach can help identify blocks that you may not even be aware of that may have been lingering all your life, unresolved, and hindering your dating and relationship developments. A good coach can not only help you fire up your mojo, they can support you in finding what makes you special and unique, accepting it, and embracing it, so that you feel confident in who you are and what you bring to the table as a partner. It is also wise to tap into the expertise of someone who is working with both men and women clients and who is on the forefront of relationship insights, questions and concerns on a daily basis. These experts can help you understand and shift.
If you’re thinking life gets too complicated now, life is always complicated always! Isn’t life so much better when you know you are heading in the right direction by taking action to MAKE THINGS HAPPEN FOR YOURSELF NOW?
Time is on no one’s side, as a wise client would point out. The advantages to getting on the field to play ball are that you may hit a home run, metaphorically speaking, you may find love. At the very least you will be playing, which is way better than sitting on the bench because we all know that playing means practice, and everyone can agree that practice may not make perfect but it certainly makes progress. We can shoot for progress, not perfection.
So what do you say, cuff away?!
