Elite Matchmaker Sherri Murphy Addresses the Pandemic of Loneliness
Two years ago the pandemic upended our lives and other people’s lives around the world. The American Psychological Association is saying that there wasn’t one pandemic, but two. The press has dubbed the 2nd pandemic, the pandemic of loneliness.
Social distancing, having to work from home and wear masks, really made it difficult to be single. Social interaction was stopped completely. People reverted to texting, phone calls and online zoom dates, instead of dating in person like before. Loneliness and suicide was rampant. Statistics show that marriages have steadily declined for many years. The exception is affluent marriages.
“Of course I believe in marriage,” says Sherri Murphy, President and owner of Elite Connections International, headquartered in Westlake Village.
