Sherri Murphy Discusses ‘The Dating Game’ With Forbes Magazine

Dating advice has seemed to remain the same for way too long, and even seems a touch outdated. Women have lost their femininity with all the online dating apps and quick meetings with so many men. Sherri Murphy an elite matchmaker with years of experience in the dating field discussed womens dating issues with Forbes Magazine. Sherri feels it’s better for women to let men reach out to the women in the beginning. Let the man call and ask you out. This might seem old fashioned to some but the aggressive attitude many women take these days isn’t working out so well for many. For men, it might be overwhelming to have this stigma placed on them, to have to be the one to reach out first, but if they are interested, they will. Men need to go back to the basics and show interest in a women, by calling soon after meeting a woman and the next day after a date.

 

Life isn’t about waiting around for someone to do what you're dreaming about. Get out of your house, put down your phone and engage in life. You won’t fall in love unless you get out and meet new people. If you’re invited, go! If you happen to come across someone who impresses you with their unique character and the way they carry themselves, or their compassion and humbleness—then you should certainly take your shot at getting to know them. Men are many times afraid of rejection, but what do your have to loose? If you meet someone you like, make a move and ask them out on a date. Or at least get their phone number, so you have a way to get to know them better. “Especially nowadays, nobody wants to play games. If you want a serious relationship, you must build up the courage and confidence within yourself to reach out for a connection with another person. You owe it to yourself to be serious about your future. It also shows the other person that you are intrigued by them enough to have asked for their number or for a date. This alone might be a determining factor that would persuade them to actually go out with you! Life is a fun adventure and you’ve got to participate. Don’t worry about what might happen, just take a chance,” says Sherri Murphy, owner of Elite Connections, a Los Angeles matchmaking service.
